In addition to trails and the canal, the state park is also home to Giving Pond. This 90-acre body of water used to be a sand and gravel quarry. Today, it’s a recreation area where visitors can enjoy boating (boats must be non-motorized, such as kayaks and paddleboards), fishing, and birding.

Fishing

Between the Delaware Canal and the Giving Pond, there is a wide variety of species of gamefish. You can catch American shad, smallmouth bass, striped bass, Walleye, and more.

Picnicking

Can you think of anything more serene than enjoying a picnic along a peaceful canal or pond? We can’t! For your convenience, picnic tables are located throughout the park and near the Giving Pond.
