What is Christkindlmarkt?

Christkindlmarkt is a German tradition that shines light and happiness during the dreary days of winter. The month-long Christmas market began during the Middle Ages. German villages would have markets for their locally grown foods, and unique, handmade crafts to reflect their specific region. 

Today, the nation’s finest artisans work their magic to produce the beautiful, German ornaments and authentic German gifts sold at the Christkindlmarkt. The market runs Fridays through Sundays and eventually Thursdays once December starts.
